Buyer's Checklist

• Zero tail swing models such as the Yanmar VIO series command a small premium but offer stronger resale value in most markets.
• Always check blade condition if the machine has a front dozer blade — replacements can be expensive and hard to source for older models.
• The 3-5 ton class offers the best balance of versatility, power, and shipping cost for first-time buyers.
• For Hong Kong and Taiwan urban buyers - always specify zero tail swing Yanmar VIO or Kubota U series. Confined city sites in both markets make standard tail swing machines difficult to operate safely adjacent to existing structures. Zero tail swing models command a small premium but are essential for effective urban site operation in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Extended reach is useful for road cutting in steep jungle terrain where machine positioning is restricted by slope and dense vegetation common on Mekong region infrastructure projects.

• For USA buyers - always engage a licensed customs broker with used non-road equipment experience before purchasing. EPA compliance requirements vary by machine age and intended use. Confirm compliance pathway before purchase to avoid costly compliance issues at US port of arrival.
• For UK buyers - request UK-Japan CEPA Statement of Origin from us at purchase. Many Japanese mini excavators qualify for reduced or zero import duty under UK-Japan CEPA saving meaningful cost on every machine imported. We issue CEPA Statements of Origin for all qualifying machines at no extra charge.
• For Australia buyers - DAFF biosecurity pre-cleaning is mandatory and we arrange this in Japan as standard for all Australia-bound shipments. On-arrival quarantine cleaning at Australian ports is significantly more expensive than Japan pre-export cleaning. Always confirm our DAFF cleaning declaration is in your shipping documents before the vessel departs Japan.
• For New Zealand buyers - MPI biosecurity pre-cleaning is mandatory and we arrange this in Japan as standard. Request MPI cleaning certificate reference number before vessel departure from Japan to confirm cleaning has been completed and documented correctly for smooth MPI clearance at Auckland or Lyttelton.
