Import Regulations & Duties

• Australia requires all used machinery to pass DAFF biosecurity inspection on arrival. Machines that do not meet biosecurity standards are subject to on-arrival cleaning at the importer's cost — which can be expensive and cause significant delays. We arrange professional pre-export biosecurity cleaning in Japan and provide a Biosecurity Declaration to help your machine pass DAFF inspection on first presentation.
• Used construction machinery imported into Australia is generally exempt from import duty under Australia's low tariff regime. However, GST of 10% applies on the taxable importation value (CIF plus any duty). We recommend confirming the applicable GST treatment with your Australian customs broker before purchase.
